CANCELLATION, RETURN AND REFUND POLICY
Last updated: 1 September 2026
1. Purpose
This policy explains the cancellation, withdrawal and refund arrangements for educational programmes and services purchased from DR SEEMA TAHIR INSTITUTE.
Because the Institute provides educational services and digital/online learning rather than physical merchandise, physical product returns and exchanges are generally not applicable.
2. Student Cancellation Before the Programme Begins
If a student cancels their enrolment:
7 or more calendar days before the programme/semester commencement date:
The student is eligible for a 100% refund of the tuition fee paid.
Less than 7 calendar days before the programme/semester commencement date:
The student is eligible for a 90% refund of the tuition fee paid.
3. Withdrawal After Classes Begin
If a student withdraws after classes have begun but before completion of the first week of teaching, the student is eligible for a 75% refund of the tuition fee paid.
After completion of the first week of teaching, tuition fees are normally non-refundable, subject to the exceptional-circumstances and service-complaint provisions below.
4. Installment Plans
Where an approved installment arrangement exists:
- refund eligibility for amounts already paid will be determined according to this policy;
- any refund will be calculated based on the amount actually paid;
- where an eligible withdrawal is approved, future installments not yet due may be cancelled as appropriate; and
- an installment plan does not provide an automatic entitlement to a refund outside the periods specified in this policy.
5. Course Cancellation by the Institute
If the Institute cancels an entire programme or semester before it begins, students who have paid will receive a 100% refund of the amount paid for that programme or semester.
If the Institute permanently discontinues a programme after teaching has begun and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, students will ordinarily receive an appropriate pro-rata refund for the undelivered portion of the educational service.
6. Rescheduled Classes
If an individual class is postponed or rescheduled, the Institute will normally provide a replacement class or reasonable alternative.
Rescheduling alone does not normally qualify for a refund.
7. Duplicate or Incorrect Payments
Where a student has accidentally made a duplicate payment or paid an amount exceeding the amount due, the verified duplicate or excess amount will be refunded in full.
Students should contact info@drseematahir.com promptly and provide the relevant transaction information.
8. Dissatisfaction With a Service
If a student believes that the educational service delivered materially differs from what was described at enrolment, the student should contact the Institute as soon as reasonably possible.
The Institute will review the concern and may, depending on the circumstances:
- resolve the service issue;
- provide a replacement or additional class;
- provide access to an appropriate alternative;
- offer course credit or transfer, with the student’s agreement;
- provide a partial refund; or
- provide a full refund where appropriate.
A refund is not automatically due merely because a student finds a course academically challenging, changes their personal preferences, does not attend available classes, or does not achieve a desired grade or result.
This provision does not limit any rights that a student may have under applicable law.
Safepay specifically requires service merchants to address customer dissatisfaction rather than using a generic merchandise-return policy.
9. Exceptional Circumstances
After the standard refund period has expired, the Institute may consider exceptional circumstances such as:
- serious illness;
- bereavement;
- significant family emergency; or
- another substantial circumstance beyond the student’s reasonable control.
Depending upon the circumstances, the Institute may offer a refund, partial refund, course credit, deferment or transfer to a future semester.
Supporting information or documentation may be requested where reasonably appropriate.
10. How to Request Cancellation or Refund
Requests should be sent to:
Email: info@drseematahir.com
Please include:
- student’s full name;
- programme/course;
- payment date;
- transaction/payment reference where available;
- reason for cancellation/refund request; and
- any relevant supporting information.
The date the Institute receives the written request will normally be used to determine eligibility under the cancellation periods above.
11. Refund Processing Time
The Institute will normally acknowledge a refund request within 3 business days.
Once a refund is approved, the Institute will normally initiate it within 7–10 business days.
After initiation, the time taken for the amount to appear in the customer’s account may depend on the payment processor, payment method, card issuer and/or customer’s bank.
Safepay currently permits full and partial refunds and states that dashboard refunds can be initiated within 60 days of capture; later refunds may require a different process.
12. Payment Processing Charges
Where a refund is made through a third-party payment processor, processing fees and taxes may be handled according to that provider’s applicable rules.
As of 1 August 2026, Safepay states that a refunded customer receives the full refund amount, while Safepay’s charges and applicable taxes on the original transaction continue to apply to the merchant.
This does not reduce an eligible student’s refund under the percentages stated in this policy.
